@Kotomi Exactly! It's not the artist that people are dumping on. The artwork itself is fine and looks quite good. It's the revamp of the costume itself that everyone complaining is taking issue with. (Ie: Small wings, basic poses, and the harsh yellow compared to gold.) That's (probably) not the choice of the artist, but rather the management and what they told the artist to do.

People are saying the costume looks horrible, not the artwork.

@Lucina Well said! I agree with you completely. I'd gladly save up (and spend) my MP/AU to buy a super amazing revamp at a more expensive price than getting something more basic for cheaper.

Hmmmmm! Not everyone can afford or be able to pay 24 au ($30.55 USD today) for a costume upgrade. That would do it for me. Blaming the management for the size of the wings/halo, etc., how do you know that is how it comes down? Enough already. Stop the blame. You don't like it. I got it. Ian gives us plenty of freebies, if I were him I would not be thrilled with the bashing. There are other sites where you have no input or choice, and everything costs you. Don't like it, don't use it... or use another site that is more to your liking. Nobody deserves this over pixels. .... Nobody!

Ian, artists, thank you for everything. I DO appreciate it. And more importantly, I respect the artists and how they carry out the Marapets (your) vision. I don't like everything, and those things I don't care for, I don't use. Thank you for keeping the site free and the perks many.

Uhhhhh Ian runs the site, pretty sure he has to approve of the au before it goes out to the public. Also everyone has a right to express their opinion, especially when they are usually spending real money to get the au.
Don't you think Ian would want opinions from people who help fund his site? @victorianartist

The old Angel Sindi was very detailed and intricate - cyan + gold with tiny red detailing in the eyes. I loved how well-drawn it was.
The new one (color-wise) looks bland and flat in comparison... :(

On the other hand, I do really like the Angel Quell revamp. :like: Felt this one wasn't rushed compared to the Sindi one.

@victorianartist We fund the site. We are the people who keep it going. A lot of people on here are extremely dedicated to their 'pixels' and want to have their voices heard when it comes to change. We aren't mindless robots who take whatever gets flung at us. We aren't going to continue to spend money on something that we don't like, which is what this site relies on. Marapets can't afford to have unhappy customers. If the majority doesn't like it, they need to take a look at what they've done.

Iunno; I kinda like it. The original Angel costume didn't have too many different poses than default (I thought). I kinda thought they were going to match the blue and yellow Hump that was redrawn first awhile ago, though.

But I DO see the copy and paste of the wings and the odd placement of the halos because the pets were not shrunk in order to make room for the halos above their heads and it does make some look rather strange or rushed so I understand why the dislike.

I'll still get it for the items, but probably only one instead of a couple for the gallery like usual... and still probably make an Angel Flab.

I get the fact that we are given a lot of freebies by Ian and the staff and THAT I am super grateful for. I don't want anyone thinking I'm not. But to many users (myself included) this site means so much more than JUST pixels.

Quite honestly, part of what keeps me on Marapets as opposed to going to other sites is the fact that so many costumes offer unique poses. I get revamping the costumes to match the newer style so it looks more uniform, I mean having some of the old style Addows alongside the newer style (which I like much better) would look rather strange/random. But to me, anyway uniformity doesn't mean updating everything to have the same basic pose where every costume looks like a clone of the basic colors. There can still be a more smooth/uniform style with some bit of individuality and personality to the pets based on the costume.

This is kinda disappointing :/
My pets all have personal meaning behind them, and some of my pets are made after my pets and family who have passed away, and I would have loved to honor them by making some pets angel. It's unfortunate that they are so yellow instead of gold, and that the wings are minuscule with awkward halo's!

I hate to "bash" on artists work, and to add to all the negative comments.. but geez. After all these complaints I hope something will be done to fix it, because this could be a totally successful revamp in which lots of people would buy AU's.. Ian please take note, because if you fix this revamp you might make a heck of a lot more £ :huh:

I am beyond upset.
I worked my butt off to get an angel chibs as my very first because I loved the look I got on today to find this. It's awful. What a waste of my time getting it. Now I have to figure something else out because she is my everything pet can't have her looking like garbage.
Literally the worst Christmas gift. The wings look like they were drawn really quickly. It's like a pee yellow not even a gold. I want the old chibs back!
