I’m only interested in unique pets. Almost all o f mine are non-basic posed pets as they feel special to me. Cookie-cutting the same pets into all the costumes is boring and a waste of time as we won’t spend our AU on them.

Quality over quantity please.

@Paissa BINGO! The base pet influx here reeks of the same changes made over there. I don’t own a single base pose pet (with the exception of a couple in my bottom two rows, which aren’t supposed to match) and I don’t think I ever will.

I think the artwork is very pretty, and I honestly like the yellow chosen here. Everyone that’s crapping on this AU isn’t taking into consideration that 1) the artist that did these is an item and wardrobe artist, not a pet artist 2) she did the absolute best she could with the fact that these had to be base pose and 3) do you guys even realize how much item and wardrobe art gets put out during the holidays? All of that plus this revamp is on a single person to produce. I understand that people are frustrated but taking it out on the artist that is currently singlehandedly supplying this site with art is barking up the wrong tree.

@Amz ... I agree. Dumping on the artist, I wonder how they would feel if something they worked on so hard was dumped on by over 100 people. Talk about crushed!!! I understand the coveting of the Angel pet, and they are, special. I agree. A little less yellow would have been nice, but..... it did not happen that way. Use a different pet if you don't like it. I hate it when my hard-earned templed mp got changed; however, Mara is trying to hard to give us everything to make our holidays beautiful, like it or not, use it or not. I remember when it was not that way. I would hate to discourage everyone so much that it would go back. Be kind to one another, it is the season. Be thankful for what we have, and so much for free. Use the site, get free au, don't be so critical if it changed not to your liking. You can be honest, but I think this artist has been bashed enough. Words hurt.

Artist: whomever you are, you did a fine job. Keep on creating, there is nothing wrong with your artist conception of the Mara Angel Pets. Have a great holiday season.

Normally first to complain if my pet gets changed but this time my Angel Quell looks lovely :love:

I don't believe people criticize the newest remake to make the artist feel bad.

The amount of new AU items in the past couple of years has gotten pretty wild, when you compare to older clothing chests, for example.
In this case, by rushing the artists, the quality drops and that is bad news for a virtual pet site like this one.

Amen @Kotomi no one wants to make the artist feel bad, I highly doubt this is their fault.

I don't mind my angel quell revamp. I just wish the halo was over the head and not hanging on it's ear.

@Aus Well for starters, a lot of the older artwork is more than ten years old and the artists who drew it no longer work for Marapets.
The older art, while those of us who have been here a very long time still enjoy it for nostalgia reasons, does not match any of the newer art and it gives the site a sort of mismatched appearance. Ian wants it to look smoother and more uniform. It's not so much about the poses, more the drawing style itself...shading, coloring etc.

I wasn't affected by the update since my only Angel pet is a Limax, but I do agree with the general consensus here that these had the potential to turn out better.

Right now these pets resemble Cherubs more than Angels, plus it is mildly frustrating to see highly desirable costumes get revamped with basic poses. Personally I would rather pay 24AU for a high quality custom pose revamp every 2 months than 8AU for generic edits on the base pose multiple times a month.
