The Hero Costume was first released in November 2009 in Account Upgrades and the costume has been retired and neglected ever since. It was never popular and our revamp has turned all Hero costumed pets into a new Strobe Costume. We have released a new version of the Strobe Account Upgrade with 8 new themed items and either a Strobe coloured Sybri or Yakubi Enchanted Plushie. This AU will retire November 30th.
There are 16 new pets that can now wear the Strobe Costume.
The Hero Newth, Ike, Daisy, Yuni, Yakubi, Viotto and Basil have been updated. If you have one of these pets, they have now turned into Strobe pets.
Remember, there was hero and superhero costumes. The hero one in question was a super muscular (hulk) version of the pets in torn shorts. Superhero is still safe (capes and masks and bright colors)

Very glad for the Hero costume to go away; Ian's right: there was very little hope for it, as it was, to be revamped.
But I agree with Fuzzy! The Chibs has nearly 100 costumes (popular pet, though, I know! ) and the Kronk has only 29. There are about 200 costumes pets can wear. :'( Even the still-sorta-new Limax has 90 costumes already which is the... fourth? most of all the species.
Along with the Kronk, I've also been wondering when the Zoosh redraw will be announced? Zoosh's got all of its redrawn basic-pose costumes like bronze, etc, but the default red/blue/yellow/green still haven't officially changed yet?
