27 N7Wasn't Christianity taking over at the time (and probably contributing greatly to the fall)? eh, either way, very down-with-women type of religion 😆 Oh, good. 0 FireClawPretty sure Constantine converted to Christianity, so yeah. About it taking over, I mean. I don't know if it contributed to Rome's collapse, though. I would research if the topic didn't sound so boring to me. I'm not talking about Rome, by the way. That's pretty much the whole point of a patriarch (and I'd wager a matriarch against the male population). Religion is just used as a tool to help perpetuate the nonsense. On its own, religion would probably just give way to whatever can be used against the oppressed portion of society. That's just a guess, of course. I don't know, nor do I care to research, what other uses a religion can have in manipulating people. The only corpses I trust are the clean ones. And if you have any clean ones I assume you've been killing my people, and that's treason! Can't upsize without more slots. x D

27 N7Hehe... if it has to do with Christianity destroying things it's interesting to me ^^ I tried explaining to my brother how Christianity and most religions are just tools to manipulate people, and he said it's important to have unity for the survival of the group o_o ... Okay, as long as the leaders aren't taking advantage of the population. Which they are/were, in at least Christianity and Islam. And probably plenty of other primitive religions. 0 FireClawI thought you didn't like religion. You both have a point. Religion is important to a lot of people's lives, but they're easy to use against the people it's supposed to serve when they don't think critically about who they're following. A lot of the time people don't remember that their scriptures are written by human hands, filtered by those with some bias that works in their favor. And in Christianity's case, a second layer of bias since it had to be translated from a language not many people would have known. Who'd check up on the original text but others in power? In that case, people really have to ask if what they're being told by another human really sounds like something their god would say. In modern Christianity, I am told that would be a benevolent one. And why the heck am I having this conversation on marapets!? Your corpse is still clean? o_0 For nothing? What happened to getting a rofling? : o Can't unsee rabbit hips and thighs. In a way it does look like Mami. Change your hair color to blond so it looks like cheese. : D

27 N7I don't in the usual way. I find parts of it interesting. :] To read about and laugh at, mwahahaa... Oh yes, "the exact word of God" is passed around by Christians constantly. I think a lot of modern Christianity comes from community and what people hear. Nothing about what they read. If anyone bothered to read these days, they'd probably be shocked by "God's" acts. My dad likes to ask confront-y questions, and when he asks Christians about God's actions in the first testament, they say "Oh, just read the New Testament." Because -points at self- : D It is against the rules to discuss religion though, lol. 'cause no one is as calm as this xP Well, well... That one wasn't. For nothing. Possibly. I realized I might almost have enough to get a Rofling, and then a Rofling owner said she might trade with me (changed her mind). So I see great potential, but I'm also super demoralized at the same time.? I tried the cheese and I went back ._.

0 FireClawNot sure why you'd give it the time of day, in that case. Says the person still on mara. I feel as if I've said that before. You'll have to forgive me for pointing this out, but it sounds like the same nonsense crazy religious folk try to pull on people of other faiths or that lack them. This is the reason I think about dropping the "atheist" word. ._. That brings up the question again, why am I having this discussion here? Or better yet, why am I having it at all? Weren't we talking about the Iliad earlier? I'm just going to burn it. Well, if someone considered, maybe another person would. And maybe the next won't change their mind. Was it orange cheese or light yellow cheese? How about yellow that's almost white cheese?

27 N7Nothing to forgive. I think the same thing sometimes and almost referred to him as an atheist to his face, then I remembered his personal classification (like his libertarian views). Yes, we were. You read it, right? : o It's hard reading something so old at times, though the only old things I've read were Telemachus and some of Beowulf 😆 Ah, okay. Bush-grade foods are also.. good incense. Hm... Just thought of someone I can try. ^^ Thank yous 😆 It was all the cheeses! Tried near-white, then settled on golden cheese for awhile.

0 FireClawI don't understand. Is or is not atheism about getting under a religious person's skin? Because it seems to be the common trend and I don't care to be part of it without a -very- good reason. Yes, I read it. No, Achilles doesn't die yet. Boo, hiss, whine. Why is it difficult to read old pieces? Shoddy translations? Think I read part of Beowulf for high-school. Didn't care for it, but then again, it was probably some watered-down mess. Like everything else. Might have to read Telemachus. Don't remember what happened to him at the end of the Odyssey. Don't remember much of the Odyssey, actually. ._. Think I'm just going to eat the bush god. Tell me if you get a rofling. Immediately. Send me a message. Don't wait for five more minutes. You'll just forget and I'll have to see myself. Liquid gold!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't atheism about the lack of belief in a god? Don't think I've explicitly read anything (in a dictionary) about atheism being about lack of belief in spirituality. : x

27 N7Did you see my second comment? While he fits the profile of an atheist in a lot of ways, he's actually pretty conservative. More relevantly, haha, atheism is a belief (in science/flesh only), one that he doesn't hold. So I don't think he could be called an atheist, he has a religion! It seems awkward, partially from the translations, yeah. The time gap contributes with how things are communicated, or maybe it's that they translate it into oldish English like a freaking bible o_O Telemachus was great! I got a PDF with most of the Ss being Fs, and for awhile my brother and I read it aloud literally. Hilarious. Aside from that it was an interesting tale. 😆 I want to read them all in order :] Ick, all that insoluble fiber will wreak hell on your intestines Okaaay o____o Sorry about Caqe... Now I's thirsty.

27 N7Mah.. Me too 😆 I'm not entirely sure on the definition of atheism =/ Haven't been interested enough 😆 My dad considers himself a deist, as he believes in some sort of creator.

0 FireClawYes, I did. Hence my second post. This is why I ask if atheism is really what I was lead to believe. Conservative about what? That doesn't really tell me anything. Calling atheism a belief makes it sound religious to me. I see why there's an atheist symbol and I'm renouncing that noun from ever describing me again; I don't work for science, it works for me. I had this whole mini paragraph about the Divine Comedy and how a version I read was full of so much dost-ing and thy-ing. But I thought I was making an assumption. x D When you find a terrible translation like that you have to shop around. Read a nice version of the Inferno for an English class. Much better than the first one I read. Let me tell you this, if it wasn't for the art, I'd not even have an idea of what happened in the later two books. "Telemachuf"? So Odyffeuf? I'm going to look at you funny for the next five minutes. Got to see if I can find the original story somewhere in print. More than the other stuff I eat? 27 N7Don't change your opinions based on me 😆 I don't know much about it! I think technically it isn't a belief, but the lack of belief. To me it just seems like a belief in only the physical and scientific. Conservative as in leaning toward Republican. Atheists are usually Democrats from what I've seen. Lol Telemachus usually came out with his S intact, but yes, Odyffeuf all the way. And peafant, refounded, herfelf... You don't usually go around eating bark and leaves, I think. 😆 Brain explosion. >.<

27 N7Mhmm xP I think materialism is different, more focusing on the comforts and niceties of physical life. Atheism is saying that the physical is the only thing that exists, to suggest perhaps ghosts/souls are real is ridiculous. Yay, another thing we agree on 😆 I can't get into politics and I don't understand those who are passionate about it and could talk about it for hours >.> Lol 😆 I really need to get a proper version of Telemachus. Iiii, me, I forgot to refresh again rofl 😆 One time when we got super- no, hyper-ultra theoretical, he basically said he thinks gawd is the thing that started existence (by becoming aware that it existed). 0 FireClawIt's okay, I've been having vague thoughts for more than a year that atheism is probably some cult and I made a mistake in trying to assume the adjective. Materialists believe people can't think on their own. That said, since they don't believe in free will, I suppose a murder is just doing what's natural and there's no point in trying to change it. *lazy shrug* I'm not even going to bother getting into the whole ghost and soul debate, simply because I don't know if they're meant to be made of something or if they're just a concept. One of those would definitely be a physical, though. I suppose its their way of feeling important. And I need to get a full on Telemachuf version. How convenient if comments worked like the shoutbox. You can edit your posts and I can ignore you until I correct myself in another post. He follows Descartes, doesn't he? The world's a stage, bro, and whatever the primeval thing is created us for its sick amusement. I can really only link that type of thought to writers.
