Aside from the usual "more non-basic poses would be nice" (which I agree with), there are things I do like about the update.

I really like the eyes on these. The dripping and how the eyru's is partially covered. looks eerie and that has some character.

The deeper shading is nice too, and I like how bright their eyes are. Like something creepy you'd see in a sewers level.

I think I'd personally prefer to look more 'mucky' like the originals were, as opposed to how solid these pets look (mostly the eyru).
