I love the mara artists and appreciate the work you do. I do have some constructive criticism though.
I agree that I would have preferred to see this costume get the unique pose treatment. This could have been really lively and fun, but comes across as standard. Also, with a few pets' I'm honestly not sure how the hats are meant to be fitting on their heads, or rather, it makes it appear that the ears aren't attached. Look at the Dakota, for example. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting what's going on, but the perspective seems wrong with the brim of the hat. It's hard for me to explain, but it looks like the brim should be behind the ear.
That said, I don't think this costume is awful. The colors are nice and vibrant. The clothing on all of the pets looks nice, I think. It's mostly just the hats that bother me, and the lack of original poses*. Even then, some work better than others. I like the sheepish wave of the Astro and the way that the Kujo looks like it could be riding a horse. Though once again, the hat appears somewhat ill-fitting on both.
I don't see these as issues that demand to be fixed right here, right now, but I do hope these opinions are taken in mind for the future.
I really smiled at the Decadal. There's something about combining dinosaurs and cowboys that just makes me happy.
* (The original costume had basic poses,so that is a bit unfair and more of wishful thinking. But this had potential to be something more action packed. Maybe some could have been twirling lassos or holding other props.
Though even then, I'm sure people would complain regardless. I really want to reiterate that I think the mara-artists do great work, and I'm just happy to see new content.)
