I hate how to win Gold tier in Beauty/Ugly contest, you need to buy AU for fancy stuff or 'buy' votes by giving folks items for their vote (I've seen it done a few times, can't remember who was doing it).

I'll usually say a vote for a vote, and ask nicely.
